EFCC To Investigate Sacked DSS Boss Over 17 Billion Alleged Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is to interrogate the sacked boss of the Directorate of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura, over alleged 17 billion naira fraud.
Daura was sacked by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo following the siege to the National Assembly by DSS operatives and is being interrogated by the police.
It is expected that Daura will be handed over to the EFCC by the Police for further interrogation concerning the 17 billion that was traced to the DSS headquarters.
The money was said to have been left behind by his predecessor, Ita Ekpeyong, who converted the N17 billion into US dollars when handing over to Daura.
The funds were reported to have been traced by EFCC from the $43 million stashed at a private apartment in Ikoyi that was linked to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
