Samsung might debut foldable phone in March 2019
Foldable Smartphones are certainly going to be the go-to line in the wake of 2019. Most brands who have shown interest in this line of products have either not given the product a name or have not attached a release date to the product.
However we want to see it, Samsung’s just-concluded Developer Conference has given an insight to the brand’s interest in the foldable mobile market.
Apart from revealing the foldable display, details such as the launch date, pricing, specs, or the design were left to a guess work but according to a new report, some of those details may have just been revealed.
According to the report, it suggests that the phone could be launched in March 2019. This report seems to validate what Samsung Mobile chief DJ Koh said at the event, which was that the phone could launch in the first half of 2019. The handset is also expected to be part of a new lineup of phones dubbed the Galaxy F and if these rumours are to be believed, the mystery device will cost close to $1,800 (N657,000), which would make it more expensive than any iPhone flagship to have been released.
Well, I really cannot say what the future holds for foldable phones until bigger brands like Samsung debut in this makes and then we evaluate sales based on functionality and emotions.
