Nokia 8.1 is official with Snapdragon 710
HMD Global has announced a new smartphone, the Nokia 8.1. Some of you may recall its Nokia 8 flagship smartphone, this isn’t an iteration of that or the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Even though the name might suggest that this device is actually the successor of the Nokia 7 Plus so it’s more of a premium mid-range phone.
The Nokia 8.1 has a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio in a 6000-series aluminum frame and glass body with diamond cut edges. It has the same clean and premium feeling design that we have come to expect from HMD Global’s devices. The Nokia 8.1 ships with Android Pie out of the box, it’s part of the Android One program.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage that can be expanded using a microSD card. There’s also a 20-megapixel front and 12-megapixel + 13-megapixel dual rear camera with optical image stabilization and Zeiss optics. All of this kit is powered by a 3,500mAh battery. The camera offers some AI features like automatic scene detection and Nokia’s Pro camera features.
If you are interested in owning this device you certainly must think of sparing N164,000.
