2019: PDP Expels Senator Buruji Kashamu
For PDP, 2019 is seemingly a battle to the finish and they would not leave any stones unturned. This is perhaps the rationale behind the expulsion of Senator Buruji Kashamu, a strong supporter of the de facto National President, Ali Modu Sheriff, for engaging in Anti-party activities.
The National Publicity secretary of the party announced the expulsion after an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting at its Wadata Plaza, National Secretariat yesterday.
Bayo Dayo, Segun Sarki and Sanimu Sodipo; all members of the party from Ogun State were expelled alongside the Senator. Mr Dayo headed the faction of the party loyal to Senator Buruji Kashamu in Ogun state.
Senator Buruji Kashamu has however kicked at the decision and insists that per the laws of the party, there is no ground for his expulsion.
While we wait to see if this is the beginning of some soul cleansing for PDP, Oshiomole blows hot in the APC, threatening to suspend Senator Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment and any other Minister from the party for supposedly flouting the President’s directive.
