IGP Summons Saraki Again Over Offa Robery
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, has summoned the Senate President Bukola Saraki over the Offa Bank Robbery.
The Senate President is requested to submit himself for questioning at the Office of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in Abuja.
The police had earlier soft-pedaled an earlier such invitation in April and instead sought for Saraki’s response in writing.
In a letter dated, July 23rd and addressed to the Senate president, the Police IG has requested Bukola Saraki to be at the IRT’s office at 8am on Tuesday, July 24th “for further investigations”
Some of the robbery suspects responsible for the murder of 33 persons in the Offa robbery had alleged that they work as thugs for the Senate President, an allegation the senate President has since denied.
