American Actress, Charlotte Rae Dies at 92

Charlotte Rae, American actress, comedian, singer and dancer, popular for the sitcom, Different Strokes and the spinoff, The Facts of Life, died in her home in Los Angeles yesterday, August 5, 2018.

The 92-year old Actress was diagnosed with bone cancer last year though the cause of death is not readily available.

She was formerly diagnosed in 2009 of pancreatic cancer but became cancer-free after 6 months.

Her career spanned six decades. She played the mother of Woody Allen’s character in the movie “Bananas” and also appeared in “The Vagina Monologues” in New York.

She was the voice of a character in “Tom and Jerry: The Movie” in 1992 and won an Emmy nomination for her performance in the TV drama “Queen of the Stardust Ballroom.”

She is survived by two sons, Larry and Andrew Strauss.
