Rasheedat Ajibade Fires Home from Penalty Spot
Rasheedat Ajibade fired home a penalty as Nigeria sends Haiti packing out of the U-20 World Cup with a lone goal. It was a keenly contested game with Haiti having more possession but their lackluster performance in front of goal proved too costly.
Both sides came into the game with a loss from their first group game which meant that for either of them to stand a chance of scrapping through the group stage then, they will have to secure atleast one point from the game – sadly Nigeria scooped all 3 points through a beautifully converted first half penalty by the FC Robo player.
With this win, Christopher Danjuma’s ladies have no doubt increased their chances of qualifying however, their last game against China will be the true litmus test of their abilities and consequently determine their fate.
Rasheedat Ajibade’s first half penalty has handed Christopher Danjuma’s ladies maximum points to brighten their chances of reaching the next stage if they could score a decisive victory over China.
